Also known as Eastern Arborvitae and American White cedar, the Emerald cedar may be the most frequently used hedging shrub in North America. Loved for its crisp texture and bright, emerald green foliage, the Emerald cedar generally maintains its colour year-round.
This plant can be kept to a height of 4 ft or can be left to grow to a height of about 15 ft, spreading to a width of 4-5 ft, and growing about 8-12 inches per year. Planted in rows, Emerald cedars make a beautiful, vibrant green privacy hedge. Recommended spacing is every 18-24 inches.
