Yews are an incredible hedging plant for your garden and one of the most attractive plants of the yew family. They grow in sun or shade and stay narrow, which is why they are often popular in small city yards. The Eddie yew is an attractive, slow-growing, columnar yew with short, dark-green, needle-like foliage. They tolerate pruning and shaping well, and can be pruned back to old wood and will re-sprout readily. The Eddie yew can reach heights of 15-20 ft in about 25 years, or can be pruned to remain short in height. For a hedge, plant at 2 ft centers.
